A new DAB + multiplex has started in Prague, it includes the Color, Hey and German Black Forest radio stations
Multiplex Color DAB + is a joint project of JOE Media, Ultravox and Dada Media. The new radio network can be offered by those interested on channel 7C from the Prague transmitter Strahov, which has a wider signal output of 1 kW in vertical polarization. The multiplex is currently in test mode and this state should last until about December. It can thus be expected that the operator will change individual technical parameters, such as data flows, security, etc.
The radio network currently covers Prague and its wider surroundings, and another transmitter is planned for the future, namely the Lbosín elevation near Benešov, which will ensure the intervention of a significant part of the Central Bohemian Region. As stated by the multiplex operator, its ambition and goal is mainly to expand Radio Color, as well as to cover the highest quality sound. Gradually, additional services will be introduced, such as displaying the currently playing song, station logo and the like.
In addition to broadcasting its own radio programs Color Music Radio and Hey Radio, the network operator wants to allow access to smaller radios or other interesting programs that are not yet represented in digital broadcasting. In the multiplex there are also stations Schwarzwaldradio (oldies program from Germany), Expres FM, Spin Radio 96.2, SkyRock, Lemonade Joe and Samson Digital. The network provider believes that the new offer will raise interest in DAB + receivers not only in Prague.
