Ukraine is ready for a possible aggression of the Russian Federation in the north – both from the Russian and Belarusian borders.
The commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, lieutenant general, will answer about it Sergey Nayev,, informs The BBC on Tuesday, November 16.
These areas are the responsibility of two operational commands – “North” and “West”.
There are continuations (permanent display points of different brigades: from the 1st tank “Severskaya” brigade of Chernihiv region to several powerful mechanized ones further west: 72 in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region), the 30th in Novohrad-Volynskyi (Zhytomyr region) and the 14th brigade in Volodymyr-Volynskyi near the border with Poland and Belarus.
In addition, the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade, which was one of the largest combat-ready units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the summer of 2014, is based in the north – in Zhytomyr.
There are also air defense and aviation forces.
“As for Kyiv itself, a reliable defense network has been created next to it, which reliably protects the sky from enemy aircraft. For adequate action of the Russians in the Armed Forces there are operational and tactical missile systems, aviation strike systems of UAVs, which can also be used to counter if necessary, “- said Sergei Nayev.
As the danger grows from the north, reconnaissance is intensified and, if necessary, the strength of the defense is increased: air defense groups are strengthened, and special units of anti-aircraft missile forces and aircraft are deployed.
Exactly how the Ukrainian army sent the defense of the northern regions through the movement of Russian troops and the group in Belarus is unknown, because this is confidential information.
“There is constant planning, field work and clarification of tasks. In the event of an increase in the military threat, all groups are strengthened. So it was also in the spring of this year (when the Russian Federation transferred troops to borders of Ukraine, – “N”), and during the training “West-2021”, – said Naev.

The migration crisis may be a cover for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, – said the Lithuanian Defense Minister
As reported, “Newsroom thousands of illegals, will increase from the Middle East and Asia, recently trying to cross the border into Poland. Since August, Polish border guards have prevented about 35,000 attempts by migrants to cross the border illegally from Belarus.
EU countries accuse the Belarusian government of inciting illegal migration because it wants revenge for EU sanctions against the Belarusian regime. It is obvious that the artificial migration crisis through Belarus is also exacerbated by Russia.
On September 2, a state of emergency was declared in the Podlaskie and Lublin voivodships of Poland in connection with the migration pressure regime in the border zone with Belarus.
The Polish authorities mobilized additional military, terrorist, and other units to the border. As a result, about 20,000 military, border guards and police protect the Polish border.
On November 5, the Polish Ministry of Defense announced another incident on the border with Belarus, when a Belarusian serviceman tried to shoot at Polish soldiers.
Later, the crisis only intensified – the Belarusian authorities sent thousands of illegal migrants to the Polish border. They were stationed in camps near the border.
On the morning of November 10, two large groups of illegal migrants broke through from Belarus to Poland. Some of these people were returned to the border line by Polish security forces. Subsequently, there were several more attempts at a breakthrough. The military of Belarus helped the illegals – they dismantle fences and so on. Migrants used tear gas against Polish border guards. At the same time, the Russian and Belarusian media are fueling propaganda hysteria.
