The city of Marseille is strengthening its support system for academic success
Concerned about the success of all schoolchildren, the City of Marseille is strengthening and extending the “Marseille Aide à la Réussite Scolaire” system to nursery and elementary schools benefiting from the local support contract. This new support was put in place by the National Education in September 2021.
Support for children as early as possible
Initially a priority in schools in education, the service is extended to schools under local support contract. The objective of these workshops is to support fragile children as early as possible in learning through an educational and fun process (learning differently, enrichment of cultural capital).
They worked by cycle, during school periods, in the form of family groups are enrolled children whose difficulties have been identified by the teachers with the agreement of the teachers.
Small working groups
For elementary school students, the MARS workshops take place four times a week, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The workshops bring together 8 to 10 students of cycle 2 (classes of CP, CE1 and CE2) or cycle 3 (classes of CM1 and CM2), supervised by a teacher. During 3 evenings, students benefit from support in carrying out their personal work, followed by a time of edutainment in order to re-mobilize skills and enrich cultural capital.
For kindergarten GS students, the workshops take place from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. and aim to strengthen the oral skills of students who are still fragile in language acquisition. Teachers work with the child to enrich their vocabulary and improve their diction. Working groups of up to 6 GS students.
