Our beloved city will be 148 years old tomorrow, a huge party is going on
from 17 to 19 November free concerts at many venues. Among the performers will be Sena and Dj Vadim, Juci Németh and Hunor G. Szabó, among others The organizers told MTI on Tuesday.
As it was written, Budapest BonBon will bring musical delicacies to all districts of the capital for the fourth time. Concerts by electronic, classical and light music performers will take place in unusual venues: cafes, bakeries, restaurants, wineries. The fusion jazz-hip-hop trio, Jazzbois a werklei can be seen in the other shop, the copper-quartz quarries of Fourtissimo in the Other Bistro, O’Sullivan in front of the Várszegi Winery in Budafok.
Sena and Dj Vadim will give a concert at Lumen Café on November 17 from 8:30 p.m. Dj Vadim, an internationally acclaimed producer and dj in the underground hip-hop scene in the UK, made a joint album with Sena in 2015 working with Irie in the Mafia and solo, with which they also toured Europe successfully. Since then, they have been playing music together regularly at the birthday BonBon in Budapest. The history of Budapest, the winner of this year’s 100 words, will also be performed at the concert.
Juci Németh and Hunor G. Szabó will play the Replacement Key in Budapest on November 18 at 7 p.m. Musicians known from different formations (Budapest Bar, Qualitons), who form a party in their private lives, are now taking the stage together. In their program, in addition to their own compositions, they choose from their favorites from the past, perform in a special way and sound, and also tell the story of Budapest in 100 words this year.
In 100 words, Budapest is a historian’s competition. The submitted stories can consist of a maximum of a hundred words and how they should be about Budapest. In this year’s field, there will be stories about balloons bursting at Városliget, a surveyor in Buda, the creatures of a concrete jungle bestarium, the mental hygiene of trams or Antonio Banderas walking along the West.
This year, a story and an accompanying illustration will be displayed at the BonBon locations in each district. In addition, each of the performers in the twenty-three districts themselves translates a hundred-word short story from the district, smuggling the stories into the concerts.
The programs are free of charge, but the partner sites can be visited according to their own capacity and operating rules, and in some cases they are subject to a security certificate. The initiative is implemented by the cooperation of Budapest Brand Zrt., The district locations, in 100 words Budapest, POKET and Mindspace.
