on Friday the presentation of a book edited by the executive of the Tribunal of the Titan
What does the Italian judicial system need to bridge the gap that separates it from European standards? This is the question that will be the background to the presentation of the book “Justice for a reform that looks to Europe”, scheduled at the Kursaal del Titano Congress Center at 3 pm on Friday 19 November. The event is organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino together with the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture, the Secretariat of State for Justice, the Order of Lawyers and Notaries. In the text signed by Giovanni Canzio, Manager of the Court of San Marino, and Francesca Fiecconi, Councilor of the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation, among other things, regulatory changes and economic investments on personnel and digital infrastructures are envisaged, taking into consideration the necessary balance between the aim of reducing the length of proceedings and ensuring a fair trial. During the event, which will bring together professionals, academics, institutional representatives and not only, there will be speeches by Paolo Pascucci, director of the San Marino Legal Institute of the University, Pietro Curzio, first president of the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation, and Renzo Orlandi, professor of Criminal Procedure Law at the University of Bologna. “This is an opportunity to reflect on modern justice with a European perspective – observes Pascucci – starting from the Italian experience and expanding the horizon to a continental dimension from which San Marino cannot remain extraneous. Even if it is not part of the EU – recalls the academic – the Titan has taken several steps towards the European process and must consider that of an efficient and rapid justice as an issue without borders. Talking about it together with the authors and the expected guests, of the highest level, can also be a positive contribution in view of the reforms being drawn up in the republic on this issue “. The presentation of the book, published by Vita e Pensiero, is sponsored by the Captains Regent and the State Congress. Contributions are expected from the Rector of the University of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli, the president of the Bar and Notaries, Maria Selva, the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, Andrea Belluzzi, the Secretary of State for Justice, Massimo Andrea Ugolini. Admission by reservation or invitation.
