Money laundering in Luxembourg and the Saar: gold and cars seized

Against a background of money laundering, investigators from the Frankfurt am Main customs investigation office and the Saarland police headquarters carried out searches of twelve residential and business premises in the Saarland. Saarbrücken region and at Luxembourg.
The police were seized there “two old cars high-priced and three other vehicles from well-known manufacturers with a total value of several thousand euros, approximately 22 kg of gold, 340 silver coins, a revolver with ammunition, 13 boxes with valuable stamps and documents, ”according to a statement from customs officials.
Money laundering at 3.8 million euros, minimum
In addition to these goods, the two main suspects were arrested at the airports of Frankfurt am Main and Brussels by a special unit of the police headquarters of the Saarland and the Belgian authorities.
Aged 62 and 49 respectively, the alleged perpetrators are accused of drug traffic and of doping substances as well as money laundering by investing illegally generated assets in their international network of businesses.
For now, the amount of money laundering would amount to 3.8 million euros, as further investigations and evaluations are ongoing.
