Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will make Athens the official guest of Archbishop Jerome
On Saturday, November 20, he will arrive in Athens Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who was officially invited by the Church of Greece, following the proposal of Archbishop Jerome and the decision of the Permanent Holy Synod, in order to be duly honored on the occasion of the completion of “thirty years of continuous glorious, theophilic and honorable Patriarchate in the Apostolic Church of Constantinople. ยป.
The beginning of the ceremonies for the anniversary will take place ecclesiastically with the performance of the Patriarchal, Archbishopric and Synodal Divine Liturgy.
According to the announcement issued by the Holy Synod, on the same day, 20/11, a visit of His Holiness to His Beatitude will take place in the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
Meetings with state officials as well
The next day, Sunday, November 21, the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Orthros and the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Cathedral and Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation.
During his stay Ecumenical Patriarch in Athens, from November 20 to 25, meetings with state officials have been scheduled, as well as events by various organizations in his honor.
During these events, the appropriate sanitary protection measures against the coronavirus spread will be observed.
