Diagoras’s girls went to Athens!
A few days ago, a basketball team of young men and women of the General Assembly was found in Athens. Diagoras, in order to give friendly games. The girls had the opportunity to play, have fun and have beautiful experiences. Specifically, they played in Melissia with the homonymous local team and the women’s team of Panionios in Nea Smyrni. The team of the General Assembly Diagoras participated in the innovative teaching program of basketball for children of the Special Education “Jambol of Love”, created by coach Giannis Tsoumbris together with his son, who is on the Autism Spectrum. There, the players were Co-trained and trained with the children of the program, with the aim of accepting them and eliminating any differences inside and outside the field. All this in an auxiliary stadium of the “Peace and Friendship” Stadium.
The “blue and reds” also attended part of the AntetokounBros Academy program, which combines training through basketball with inspiration through education and is aimed at boys and girls aged 12 to 16 years. The program offers 12 positions for apprentice coaches and coaches aged 18 to 25, who participate in the trainings of the Academy, under the guidance of Head Coach Evina Maltsi. In their relaxation, the girls of Diagoras visited Plaka, Syntagma, Thiseion and Monastiraki. They also had a unique experience watching at SEF the match between Olympiacos and Monaco for the Euroleague. Athletes Eleni Soulos, Evita Papaioannou, Nastazia Sakki, Anna Manou, Despina Potsaki, Liana Manou, Angeliki Volitaki, Angeliki Andrikou, Melina Berdi and Maria Pontikaki participated with Diagoras. With them were the coaches Georgia Beloudou and Eftychia Galachousidis.
