Meeting with Katarzyna Kalwat, director of the award-winning “Return to Reims” and “Cleansing” – an experiment on the border between theater and music, discussion on the play “Krum”, directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski, preferably for Jacek Wakar, meeting with Piotr Kruszczyński and Sebastian Majewski , former and director of the Dramatic Theater Jerzy Szawski in Wałbrzych, as well as journalistic workshops, conversations about literature and “People’s history of Poland” – a history of violence, according to Kamil Janicki, historian, writer and journalism, author of the famous book “Pańszczyzna. The true story of Polish slavery. ”
These are only part of the meetings, workshops and lectures that will take place this weekend, on November 20 and 21 as part of the University of Looking at Theater. This time the topic of all meetings will be “The Shy Autobiography”.
– Shame is the theme of this year’s edition of the game Patrzenia Teatrem. This is one of the traumas of today, common on many levels. – says Jacek Wakar, curator of the University of Looking at Theater. – We are trying to go further, shed and lead, we go on and will be a theater expert, but also contain the latest literature. “Shy Autobiography” combines all the topics that will be next weekend. to talk, among others about the individual co-shame, about the individual, unwanted, and about how these autobiographies approach the fields of art differently.
As part of the “Masters – Inspirations” series, there will be a meeting with director Katarzyna Kalwat, the author of the famous production based on Didier Eribon’s book “Return to Reims”.
– We will consider whether each of us, like our own Eribon, hide a false autobiography. We will talk about treating theater as a synthesis of arts and any place for entertainment and music, as well as exploration, inspiration and masters. Katarzy Kalwat. – says Jacek Wakar.
The University of Looking at Theater is an original project of the House of Utopia – the International Center for Empathy in Krakow. The originator of the project is Małgorzata Szydłowska, set designer, director of the House of Utopia. This year’s edition of UPT runs over five weekends, each with a different area of shame.
