An original way to pay for his daily dose of heroin was devised by a 28-year-old man from Prague. He walked around the apartments in blocks of flats, always peering at their residents as his recent immigrant neighbor and slamming his keys. He asked them for money from the locksmith, saying that they would return in the evening. But that never happened. Prague criminal investigators have already caught up, they have so far registered 14 such cases, but it is possible that he is more responsible for this.
Many Praguers have been left with eyes to cry in recent days! They were the victims of a con man who looked like a new dear neighbor. The man looked out the block of flats, got inside under some pretext, and rang the randomly selected apartment. He told the victims that he had recently moved in, so they didn’t know him yet, and now he slammed the keys. “He said he needed to lend money to a locksmith, saying he would return it later that evening. “ police spokesman Jan Daněk described his actions.
But that never happened. “Of course, the whole story was made up, the money ended up in his pocket and then at the drug dealer. The man was taking heroin and needed to get 1,500 crowns a day, “Said the spokesman.
So far, 14 cases have been documented, but it is possible that there are many more. “In this way, we turn to other victims to call 158, if they have also been deceived in this way. There is a presumption that there may be dozens of such cases in Prague or the whole of the Czech Republic, “Daněk said, adding that it is not possible to show the perpetrator’s face now, because it could disrupt recognition. Men face up to three years in prison for violations of domestic freedom, fraud and theft.
Danek also stated that the man had been convicted of the same in the past – at that time he committed a total of 48 such acts with a damage of 60 thousand. He received a suspended sentence of 18 months’ imprisonment with a three-year sentence, now he is still on parole.
