a festival of innovative solutions for ten days
“In Toulouse, we are resolute with optimism and learn about the creative and innovative capacity of humanity, in the service of human and environmental progress“, declares Jean Luc Moudenc, mayor of Toulouse and president of Toulouse Métropole. With this in mind, the city is organizing the Toulouse Innovative and Sustainable Festival in the pink city from 19 to 28 November 2021.
During this event, the people of Toulouse could discover innovative solutions for a sustainable daily life imagined by startups, companies, associations and Toulouse Métropole. Different types of animation are thus planned. They allow them to better understand the challenges of ecological transition.
A forum dedicated to carbon neutrality
From November 19, a first big meeting is scheduled at the Capitol. It’s about Zero Carbon Forum, organized by La Tribune. Its theme: “From COP21 to COP26, 5 years for the climate”. The right moment for European metropolises to re-engage in carbon neutrality by 2050.
The opportunity also for Toulouse Métropole to sign an agreement with the foundation Solar pulse. This foundation offers political and economic decision-makers a Guide to ecological solutions that can be implemented on a large scale.
Activities for children
The festival is aimed at all audiences. Children will therefore not be left out. Every day they will find a digital and vegetal graffiti workshop. As the event progresses, they will be entitled to other creative events. Christmas decorations from sports equipment, workshop object making from plastic waste, creation of a mini table football…
The more curious can also participate in workshops. These will relate in particular to the cycle of making a smartphone, on the secrets of the soil, or the use of scientific measuring instruments.
Serious games and escape games
Fun activities are also planned for the general public. There will be for example serious games on the theme of health and reducing our carbon footprint. On another side, escape games will be organized. “The forgotten people of the fridge” on waste, “the Vert’igineux bus” on biogas and “Dry breakdown in Audeville” on water conservation. Even more immersive, experiences of virtual reality are also planned.
