The great railway transformation of Prague7 for four billion. A new railway station will be built in Bubny, crossing P0001 will end
A new train station will be built at the Exhibition Grounds, the track will run along the flyover.
Today, the railway administration announced a competition for one of the largest railway constructions in Prague. As part of the contract for the modernization of the Bubny – Výstaviště section, a part of Prague 7, which is still divided by the railway line, will be completely transformed.
The value of the announced contract is 3.8 billion crowns, which is the maximum price. The railway administration believes that construction will begin next year. It is part of the modernization and construction of the railway to Václav Havel Airport. During the construction, trains from Kladno will end in Dejvice, traffic to Kralupy will be maintained. It should be done in 2025.
“This is the actual beginning of the transformation of the whole Holešovice. The railway station has long divided Holešovice into two disparate parts, the new railway naturally connects them, “Said Jiří Svoboda, General Director of the Railway Administration.
A new station building and three platforms will be built in Bubny. There will be a total of four tracks. The other track, which has long been owned by a private developer, is set to disappear. The architectural design of the new station is from the Jakub Cigler Architekti studio.
The appearance of the station should have two different phases. First, there will be a relaxing grassy area on the roof. In the second phase, together with the construction of a new district in front of the station, an office building and commercial premises will be created. A completely new district of Bubny-Zátory will be created in the vicinity.
The station is to be the new center of the district in the upcoming Philharmonic building. The event also includes a major transformation of the section of the track to the Exhibition Grounds. The track after the flyover will also disappear at the crossing in Bubenská Street, which is marked P001 in the Railway News network. A new stop Prague – Výstaviště will be built on the edge of Stromovka. The route following the flyover is intended to enable further development of the area. The problematic bridging in Dukelských hrdinů Street will also end, where in the past the tram trolleys of truck drivers were repeatedly downloaded due to the low altitude profile.
