Several traffic accidents and drunk drivers in Salzburg
During the night from Sunday to Monday, there were several road traffic accidents in the state of Salzburg.
Drunk e-scooter driver collides with a traffic island
A 40-year-old German citizen drove his e-scooter without wearing a helmet from the Bräu Gasthof in Kaltenhausen in the direction of Hallein. The e-scooter handlebar has drifted off the lane to the left into the middle of the lane and collided head-on with the traffic island, which is probably due, among other things, to his alcoholism. As a result of the fall, the 40-year-old suffered injuries of an indefinite degree in the head area or a cave in the hands. He was brought to the Salzburg accident hospital in an ambulance. The e-scooter remained almost undamaged. An alcohol test was positive and gave a value of 1.86 per mille.
Vehicle driver drives in serpentine lines and refuses alcohol test
After a hint from the population that a car driver would drive in a serpentine line in the Nonntaler Hauptstrasse in the direction of the city, a patrol looked for the driver. This could finally be found at the residential address and was asked for the alcohol test, which resulted in a value of approx. 1.6 per mille. The driver subsequently refused to take an alcohol test and was informed about the complaint and the provisional removal of the driver’s license. As the Salzburg Police Department announced in a broadcast, the 38-year-old Bosnian citizen refused to speak to the female officer. He would not speak to any woman, a woman has no right to speak, he is said to have said.
Cyclists injured after colliding with a car
Without the influence of alcohol, but with an injury, an accident occurred in the city area on Sunday evening. A 54-year-old drove his car down Elisabethstraße in the direction of the city center, where he turned left into Saint-Julien-Straße. At the intersection there was a collision with a 58-year-old cyclist. The cyclist fell and suffered abrasions in the area of both hands and arms and was taken to the Salzburg accident hospital by ambulance. The driver was not injured. An alcohol test carried out with both vehicle drivers was negative with 0.00 mg / l each.
