Prague will prepare a landscape study Trojmezí between Hostivaří and Záběhlice
On Monday, the Capital City Council commissioned the Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague. m of Prague (IPR) by elaborating a landscape study on the territory of the so-called Trojmezí. The location, which is surrounded by the development of the city districts of Prague 4, 10, 11 and 15, is for the most part included in the Hostivař-Záběhlice Nature Park.
The aim of the study is to define the natural values of the area and to create a pleasant space for spending free time. The public will also be able to participate in the preparation of the entire study. Trojmezí is an active recreational locality, for example, for the inhabitants of Chodov, Spořilov, Hostivar or Záběhlice. In addition to the natural monument Meandra Botič, there are also several retention reservoirs or an extensive neglected orchard. In the past, several studies of owners and civic associations were carried out for the area, but no proposal found the necessary agreement. In April 2021, therefore, the City Hall m of Prague, together with the city districts, issued a memorandum on a common procedure for the use of the Trojmezí area. In it, the capital, at the suggestion of the First Deputy Mayor Petr Hlaváček, undertook to entrust the IPR with the elaboration of a landscape study for the entire locality.
“We will follow up on many considerations and studies of the Trojmezí site. We are looking for the potential and possibilities of various characters of nature, rest and recreation. We will combine everything in the design of the study, which will emphasize respect for the wide Botič valley, maximum protection of unstoppable areas around watercourses and stabilization of the compactly built-up area around Trojmezí, “explains some of the study’s goals.
The study is divided into two parts – analytical and design. The first will focus on the condition of the landscape and soil. It will also deal with the connection of existing retention tanks. Based on this analysis, the location of leisure activities that do not require extensive construction work will be examined. Prague is also considering, for example, the location of a biotope swimming pool or the modification of the neglected Gardening Youth Parks and the creation of a public community garden. The design part will also include the solution of newly considered cycle paths and walking routes, or a hippopotamus, ie paths for horses. Water retention in the area will be addressed by ditches, overhangs and furrows slowing down the outflow of rainfall.
“It simply came to our notice then. It is an integral part of the solution of property rights settlement of the whole territory. The goal is a clear definition of the boundaries of the unstoppable area of Trojmezí, its leisure character and thus giving a clear future to the development of the locality, “says Jan Chabr, Councilor for Property Management. “We want to maintain environmentally friendly agriculture in the area. The study will therefore propose appropriate measures for sensitive water and land management. Large areas of fields should be divided by alleys and draws to prevent erosion. We will also cooperate with the Center for Ecological Education of the Capital City of Prague, Toulcův Dvůr, which is one of the most important activities in the area, ”adds Ondřej Boháč, Director of IPR, to the study’s intentions.
The elaboration of both parts of the study is spread over two years. The works will be continuously consulted by the relevant city districts, selected state administration bodies, landowners in the area, local residents and civic associations. The participation will include a survey collecting suggestions, walks and a planning container on the spot. The proposal will respect all planned plans for technical infrastructure, such as in particular the new water supply, but also the existing cycle routes.
