Prague-Bubny: The railway station is awaiting modernization
The entire area of the so-called brownfield in the vicinity of the Prague-Bubny stops is waiting for a major change in the future. It is planned to build a new district for about 25,000 inhabitants of Bubny-Zátory. The new building of the Prague Philharmonic should also be nearby. At present, there are only a pair of sprayed shelters in the vicinity of the Vltavská metro station. They should replace the new building by 2025, which is actually the first step in transforming the whole territory.
The director of the Railway Administration (SŽ) Jiří Svoboda noted that rather than modernization, it is essentially a new construction and it is a major milestone in the modernization of the line towards Kladno and, in fact, the beginning of the entire construction. “The old railway station has long divided Holešovice into two disparate parts“On the other hand, the new railway will naturally connect the two parts,” he says. The mayor of Prague 7, Jan Čižinský (Prague Sobě), is also convinced that the whole area needs a change. “This place needs rehabilitationIt’s a really big scar on your face Prague, “he said.
The new section follows the Negrelli viaduct and the entire contract by not costing more than 3.8 billion crowns. The new station will have three platforms and the building should be connected to the Vltavská metro vestibule. The modern building, designed by the studio of architect Jakub Cigler, will have a grass roof with a rest area and the station’s vestibules are to be used for commercial purposes.
By train at the Exhibition Center
A new station that should improve the transport accessibility of Prague 7 is also the new station on the outskirts of Stromovka. According to Jiří Svoboda, the new stop should support a change in people’s thinking to make more use of public transport. “When the Matěj Fair took place, she parked her car everywhere possible, now there will be an opportunity to come there without looking for a place to park.“Mayor Čižinský added.
Thanks to the new stops, according to him, the inhabitants of Prague 7 can also easily get to all metro lines. From Bubny station it should be only a few minutes to Masaryk railway station, on the opposite side towards the airport, they will be able to easily get to the stop of line A in Dejvice.
The bridge connects both parts of Holešovice
Cizinsky also pointed out that is preparing a bridge between Dělnická and Veletržní streets, which will enable a connection between two divided parts for HolešC. “A large bridge will be created, under which it will be possible to pass and pass. “I have to make the passage possible before the majority,” he said.
The modernized track will also lead from the veterinary section above the countries. According to the mayor, the town hall wants the whole project to be “urban” and similar spaces were created under the arches of the track as under the Negrelli viaductwhere shops or various cafes have moved.
New Masaryk railway station
On Monday, the official decision for the modernization of Masaryk Railway Station will also come into force. Construction should begin as early as 2023, and in addition to the transformation of the premises, the current number of tracks should be expanded from seven to nine. In the future, the station should serve as a boarding or terminating station for trains to Václav Havel Airport.
“It will be a completely new railway station with a large platform,” said SŽ director Jiří Svoboda. The new station should include a vestibule connecting the area of Na Florenci, Hybernská and Opletalova streets with access to individual platforms andit is possible to get from the station in all directions without passengers having to bypass the building.
The modernization of the line and Masaryk railway station are part of the planned railway connection between Prague and Kladno. The whole project is divided into several sections. It is currently the only one on the Negrelli Viaduct. At the beginning of October, the Railway Administration announced a competition for the construction of the section from Kladno to Kladno Ostrovce. The new connection is to be electrified, run on two tracks and should allow trains running to the airport and to Kladno to run at ten-minute intervals.
