During the general renovation of the Clemens-Holzmeister-Stiege behind the festival hall, technicians from the municipal authorities installed particularly insect-friendly lighting along the stairs. Nevertheless, the path is well lit.
Employees of the magistrate were busy with the renovation of the Holzmeisterstiege for a good year. Concreting the 220 steps behind the festival halls and paving the 19 podiums was particularly special because of the narrow construction site. The city invested 760,000 euros in the renovation.
Thomas Egger: “That has to do primarily with the light spectrum. Light from 3,000 Kelvin down is used. Nocturnal animals respond to moonlight, so one should avoid imitating it. Thanks to the lowest temperatures of the LED lamps, the insects no longer burn. “
New lamps: less power consumption and longer lifespan
In addition, the 120 small LED lamps that have now been installed in the staircase handrail consume three quarters less electricity than the six large street lamps before the renovation. If the lighting fixtures still have to be changed regularly, the manufacturer of the LED lamps will in future guarantee a service life of more than 23 years, says Thomas Egger, head of lighting.
