In Russia, they decided to change the coronavirus vaccination certificates: Society: Russia: Lenta.ru
The Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media discussed ways to change the coronavirus vaccination certificates. They can be supplemented with photographs of citizens, write “News”.
The ministry believes that the addition of a COVID-19 vaccination certificate will help shorten the time in public places where QR codes will soon begin to be required. Thus, inspectors do not have to verify the document data with passports. The measure, which the department has conceived to take, will make the passage through QR codes more convenient.
Now personal data is not reflected in the QR code, therefore it is necessary to compare the certificate with the passport, the Izvestia source believes. If a photo is added to the document, then such a procedure will no longer be necessary. It is assumed that a snapshot can be taken from the Unified Biometric System (UBS).
Konstantin Ankilov, general director of TMT-Consulting, said that adding QR codes to a photograph of Russians is a positive idea. According to him, the experience of other countries shows that it is “extremely tiring” to constantly present a smartphone and a passport in public places.
“If the user does not have to carry a passport with them to enter most of the enclosed spaces, it will be really convenient. “The inspectors will not need to compare the data of the phone screen and the document,” Ankilov concluded.
On November 12, draft amendments were submitted to the State Duma on the use of the QR code virus confirming vaccination against coronavirus or a disease that has been transferred over the past six months. The government has proposed making it mandatory throughout Russia to present QR codes by passengers on trains and airplanes, as well as when visiting public places.
