From Tuesday, November 16, there will be a strike in Munich
Munich (dpa / lby) – In the midst of the worsening corona situation, Verdi will significantly expand the warning strikes at university clinics – also in the Free State.
As Verdi announced to Bavaria, employees at both university clinics in Munich and in Erlangen, Regensburg and Würzburg want to stop work this Tuesday.
These Munich clinics are involved
The Munich clinics of the Free State of Bavaria will strike on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, and in some cases the strike will continue until Thursday. Affected in Munich are:
- University hospital (Großhadern and city center)
- Hospital right the Isar
- German Heart Center
Verdi has concluded emergency service agreements with both the university clinic and the Rechts der Isar clinic. This ensures that all life-saving measures are carried out despite the strike. Only for the German Heart Center there is no corresponding emergency service agreement.

Third round of negotiations in the collective bargaining dispute
With the standouts, the union will increase the pressure on employers in the collective bargaining dispute over the public service of the federal states. “You drive the health system against the wall,” said Robert Hinke, head of the health and social affairs department at Verdi Bavaria. “The work and stress situation was unacceptable even before the pandemic. Today the situation has worsened. But that still doesn’t seem to have reached everyone. ” He announced “noticeable warning strikes”.
After negotiations with no results so far, Verdi and the civil servants’ association dbb will meet on November 27th and 28th in Potsdam for the third round of negotiations with the collective bargaining community of the federal states (TdL). Verdi and dbb Beamtenbund and Tarifunion are demanding five percent more salary for the nationwide more than one million state employees, but at least 150 euros per month, in the health sector 300 euros more. The TdL negotiator, the Lower Saxony Finance Minister Reinhold Hilbers (CDU), had repeatedly rejected the demands as unrealistic.
With the warning strikes, the employers’ side should be “brought to their senses,” said Hinke. Verdi emphasized: “All employers were offered emergency service agreements to ensure patient care.”
