In February 2019, Brigadier General of the UAE Armed Forces Mohammed Hassaini said that the country had purchased Pantsir-C1 complexes from Russia for more than $ 12 million. In total, from 2009 to 2013 in the UAE were delivered 50 Russian complexes and 1,000 missiles for them for a total of $ 800 million.
ZRPK “Pantsir-S1” was adopted by the Russian army in 2012. Its development has been going on since the early 1990s. Contracts for its supply were signed with Algeria, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, the Pantsir-C1 complexes are part of the air defense system that ensures the security of Russian aviation in Syria.
