One of the leaders of Budapest Pride is among the LGBTQ winners at the MTV EMA gala
The 2021 MTV EMA Award Ceremony will be held at the Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest on Sunday, with a new award called “Generation Change” this year, which will be drawn among activists fighting for LGBTQ + rights. writes Teen Vogue.
The winners of the 2021 MTV EMA Generation Change are Amir Ashour, Matthew Blaise, Sage Dolan-Sandrino, Erika Hilton and Victoria Radványi. They will be celebrated at the EMA ceremony on Sunday night, and each winner can choose an organization or NGO to receive money from MTV.
Among the candidates, Viktória Radványi is a member of the management of Budapest Pride, Hungary’s first feminist and anti-racist LGBTQ + NGO.
It has already been revealed that this year’s MTV award ceremony wants to stand up against measures that violate LGBTQ + rights, and Gergely Gulyás, the prime minister, said in a previous press conference that they want to use this gala to provoke the government.
Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of MTV Entertainment Group Worldwide, said
It is also a great honor to stand by my LGBTQ + brothers when we broadcast the 2021 MTV EMA celebration from Hungary.
