Marseille, future Mediterranean capital of cinema?
On the occasion of his visit to Marseille in September, Emmanuel Macron spoke of his wish to help the city to renovate schools, develop transport, but also to make Marseille the Mediterranean capital of cinema.
During his speech last September, President Emmanuel Macron will prepare the cultural component of his plan, emphasizing the hosting of shoots and training in film professions.
Extract from Emmanuel Macron’s allowance of September 2: “now is the time to invest in the cultural and creative industries, in the cinema and in the audiovisual sector. And in Marseille there is the capacity to do so. There are the talents. There are studios. There is envy and there are opportunities for young people. The actors have a project here to create, and the region, which I welcome, is ready to make a very strong commitment to it. A major audiovisual project on the scale of the Mediterranean arc by acting on the one hand on production and filming infrastructures and on the other hand on training in film and audiovisual professions“.
Creation of large studios, a digital center, a school for former filmmakers …
