Incredible Ukraine ”will open the film“ Earth ”and the band Zapaska
At the opening of the project “Earth: Incredible Ukraine” on November 18 at the Expocenter of Ukraine (ENEA) will be a screening of the film “Earth” by Alexander Dovzhenko accompanied by music by Zapaska.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the press service of the State Arts.
The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, the State Agency for Arts and Urban Education and the Postmen Agency. The exposition of warehouses of modules made of mobile containers will include five thematic blocks – “See”, “Taste”, “Inhale”, “Feel”, “Hear” – and is designed to draw the attention of Ukrainians to the everyday that really exists.
“It is impossible to imagine all the diversity of Ukraine. But this project is a great attempt to see our country in a completely different way. It seems to become more expensive over time, and the effect of presence will be maximum. “Earth: Incredible Ukraine” covers all the senses and even more. The exhibition offers an original to get acquainted not only with its history. If it seems to you that you already know everything in detail, there will be something to surprise here, “commented the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.
It is noted that each of the thematic blocks provides an opportunity to rethink the meaning and images of the earth, their significance in the lives of Ukrainians. Visitors learn about the boundaries of Ukrainian land in historical perspective, feel its smells, see the fruits of our land, depicted in paintings by great Ukrainian artists, provide them with the technique of silk-screen printing on their own T-shirts, shoppers or other textiles. Interaction with tools and implements of different regions and eras, as well as the opportunity to meditate, watching a video installation with water.
“This project is an attempt to understand the Earth as one of the defining components of Ukrainian identity. Departing from the canonical traditional connotations, the curators suggest a different way to look, think and feel what the land is for Ukrainians – the source of life, territory, roots, boundaries, or, ultimately, the future? Through art projects, we initiate this dialogue, but not to fix the only correct answer, but to seek understanding and unity, “said the head of the State Agency for Arts and Art Education Halyna Hryhorenko.
In addition to thematic blocks, the exhibition will feature the Prosvita Lounge area, where you can listen to and download podcasts from experts. Excursions from project manager Yaroslav Vedmid and curator Yevhen Stasinevych will also be organized for visitors.
At the end of the exhibition, spectators receive a “live” board, which contains grain that can be germinated in the exhibition space or at home.
According to Ukrinform, “Earth: Incredible Ukraine” will last from November 18 to 25, subject to all quarantine restrictions: entry with a certificate of completion of a full course of vaccination or a negative PCR test.
The exposition will operate on the territory of the National Complex “Expocenter of Ukraine”, behind the first pavilion. Free entrance.
