We are not going to lie: the weather is not looking really bright in Toulouse, Sunday, November 14, 2021. Météo France indeed forecasts rare showers throughout the day, from morning to evening. This does not prevent putting the nose outside. And for good reason, there are plenty of things to do in and around Toulouse!
The writing ofToulouse news one selected for you some ideas for outings to liven up your Sunday. On the program: exhibitions, beer, cars and movies! Follow the guide.
# 1. The Lady and the Unicorn at the Slaughterhouses
Several beautiful exhibitions are to be seen at the moment in Toulouse. Absolute masterpiece from the collections of the Cluny museum, the six tapestries that make up The Lady and the Unicorn, a masterpiece of medieval art, are visible until January 16, 2022, at Slaughterhouse Museum. An unprecedented event not to be missed!
And if you go to admire The Lady with the Unicorn, you will also be able to see another exhibition which traces the life and work of the incredible doctor. Francois Tosquelles, the man who revolutionized French psychiatry.
# 2. Two other exhibitions worth seeing
Another idea for an outing, not far from there: the Gallery of the Water Castle dedicates the photographer’s first major exhibition in France Nicolas nixon, an emblematic figure of American documentary photography in recent decades. Exhibited at the MoMa in New York on three occasions, this leading photographer is notably known for his 46 photographs of the “Brown Sisters”, taken between 1975 and 2020. A photographic series which is also visible at the Water Tower, until ‘to January 16, 2022.
Finally, another idea: partially reopened to the public, the Augustins museum hosts an exhibition dedicated to Théodule Ribot. Little known to the general public but very present in public collections in France and abroad, Théodule Ribot, free and self-taught painter, was admired by his artist friends such as Fantin-Latour, Boudin or Rodin. Inspired by old painting, from Rembrandt to Ribera, and in tune with some of his contemporaries, the artist develops a completely original, generous and moving talent. An exhibition to see until January 10, 2022.
