Berlin currywurst seller is now European boxing champion – BZ Berlin
Berlin has a European boxing champion again. After a thrilling ring battle in Bielefeld, cruiserweight Enrico Kölling (31) was able to strap on the WBO European champion belt on Friday evening. He wins points against defending champion Leon Harth (33 / Bielefeld).
Kölling on Saturday at the BZ: “We’re still partying.” For good reason! While Harth was preparing for the extra in a training camp in Armenia, it was much more difficult for Kölling.
He got up at 4 a.m. in preparation for the fight, completed the training and then went about his job as a parcel deliverer at the post office. Now and then he also stopped by his currywurst stall and stood behind the counter.
Kölling: “It’s hard to be a semi-professional in the ring. But everything worked out. “
Only judge Morales from Hamburg did not see through, scored the fight 95:95. His two other colleagues correctly scored 96:94. European champion Kölling doesn’t care much now. He’s back in business as a boxer and currywurst seller.
