Queen Máxima steals show during state visit with holeju…
The Dutch Queen Máxima (50) and King Willem-Alexander (54) are currently on a state visit to Norway. Wednesday, on the second day of the visit, a creation by Claes Iversen (44).
The second day of the state visit to Norway was concluded with a concert by the Dutch cellist Harriet. There, Máxima stole the show with her ‘holed dress’. The dress with ‘cut-outs’, designed by Danish fashion designer Claes Iversen, who lives in the Netherlands, did not go unnoticed by our eastern neighbours. For example, the German magazine Bunte wrote that the outfit was rather daring and that the dress looks somewhat ‘otherworldly’. “With this outfit, the other visitors will probably have seen a bit”, can be heard in a video.
Special touch
The three-day state visit by Willem-Alexander and Máxima started last Tuesday and had a special touch. When the king and queen go on a state visit, a visit to a monarchy is invariably a reunion between good acquaintances. Or, in the case of Norway, family friends.
King Willem-Alexander’s three-day state visit to Norway is good for the friendship between the Netherlands and Norway: “Good friendships must also be maintained,” he said during a press briefing on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday, the state visit focused on sustainable management of the oceans and the transition to sustainable energy sources. At the technical university of the city of Trondheim, a panel discussion between companies, researchers and students was on the program about wind energy and hydrogen.
“There would be no healthy planet without healthy oceans,” said Haakon. Máxima said on Thursday that the Netherlands and Norway can do a lot from each other in the field of sustainability: “And that just proves how important this learning was in the field of sustainability.”
Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon was able to start the state visit of his good friend Willem-Alexander for the first time in Trondheim on Thursday. Haakon was forced to miss the first two days. He had a mild cold and was afraid it could be corona.
