Oman Air resumes flights to Munich and Zurich

Sugar Mizzy November 13, 2021

Oman’s flag carrier – Oman Air – has announced that connections to Munich, Zurich and another destination will be resumed.

More and more airlines are moving back towards normal. On October 1st, Oman Air resumed international air traffic and is among other things flying to again Frankfurt. Now Zurich and Munich are to be served again from December 1st, as if from one Press release the airline.

Three times a week Munich – Muscat

After Oman Air even had to stop air traffic during the corona pandemic, things now seem to be slowly picking up again. Domestic air traffic was resumed in September and international air traffic in October. For the winter, the existing flight plan is now being expanded to include three more destinations: Munich, Zurich and Kuala Lumpur. The first two are of course particularly interesting for German and Swiss travelers.

Oman Air flies to Zurich with the Airbus A330.

The airline flies from Muscat to the Bavarian capital on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The pure flight time is 6.5 hours. On the same day, it goes back to Muscat from Munich in the evening.

Flight number. from Evacuation To Arrivals weekday
WY123 Muscat 15:00 Munich 18:50 Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
WY124 Munich 21:45 Muscat 06:50 +1 Wednesday, Friday, Sunday

A Boeing 787-9 is used for this connection, which has two-class seating, 30 of which are business class.

Two weekly flights to Zurich

The flight times for Zurich are similar, but Oman Air only flies there twice a week – the Sunday flight that Munich has is no longer available.

Flight number. from Evacuation To Arrivals weekday
WY153 Muscat 14:55 Zurich 19:05 Wednesday Friday
WY154 Zurich 21:55 Muscat 06:50 +1 Wednesday Friday

Oman Air flies to Zurich with an Airbus A330-200 with 20 business class seats. Moritz could test what the Oman Air Business Class looks like in the Airbus A330 on one of his last long-haul flights before the pandemic. How he liked it, you can do it in his Oman Air Business Class Airbus A330 experience report read up.

Conclusion on Oman Air’s resumption of flights to Munich and Zurich

Frankfurt is currently the only destination in the DACH region that Oman Air serves. However, that will change from December 1st, because then Zurich and Munich will be back in the program. With attractive flight times, guests can look forward to a pleasant on-board experience. Maybe in the future there will be more to do with the subject of a possible one Oneworld entry of the airlinee – then the routes could be even more interesting.
