Natalie’s fashion outfit in “Love Hard”, the Christmas romcom on Netflix
Available from November 5 on Netflix, this new Christmas movie starring Nina Dobrev quickly rose to the top of the most watched programs on the streaming platform. We follow the misadventures of Natalie, a journalist living in Los Angeles who has a series of romantic failures. Registered on a dating app, she ends up playing with Josh, and she fell in love immediately. Long discussions and phone calls ensue, until one day Natalie finally decides to meet him. She travels all over the United States to surprise him at Christmas but discovers that she has been fooled by a catfish.
The character: a bachelor ready for anything
Natalie is a character you can easily relate to. Desperately in search of true love, she goes on crappy dates and recounts in her successful column her romantic setbacks. We love the touch of madness that pushes her to cross the whole country to finally meet the man who capsizes her heart or to deliver a show worthy of Celine Dion to get noticed. Ready to do anything to please the person who interests her, she even goes so far as to invent passions that go against what she really is, as with climbing when she is dizzy .
Her wardrobe: perfect Christmas looks
At the start of the film, while still in Los Angeles, Natalie appears in very fashionable looks, both casual and chic and perfect for everyday life. We see her especially with a blazer accompanied by a t-shirt with inscriptions, wide and short jeans that reveal a pair of orange socks, and suede ankle boots, or associated with pumps when she is at work. Accessorized by golden jewelry, her outfits are perfect and easy to recreate.
When she arrives in town from the man she hopes to meet, the climate changes dramatically in Los Angeles, and so do her looks. Her outfit at the time of her arrival included a black perfecto, a pair of black sock boots and a brown twisted sweater dress. Bodycon and with a slit at the thigh, the latter is undoubtedly the perfect dress for winter, at the same time comfortable, stylish and sexy.
Then follow other looks much more connoted Christmas than the previous ones, already giving us an idea of what we would like to wear for our New Year’s Eve with family or friends. The various Christmas sweaters and t-shirts Natalie wears are not as kitschy as we are used to seeing around this time. On the contrary, they are rather well sought after, and with pretty details: small pompoms, barley sugar patterns or even a pink color, a color little used in this type of wardrobe.
On the other hand, we are not going to lie to each other about the association of the pieces between them which is sometimes a little doubtful: the combo of red and beige sleeveless down jacket + lumberjack shirt + Christmas sweater is a faux pas not to be learned. December 24th and 25th. Although each of these garments, worn alone, are desirable, we avoid combining these different styles together.
If we want to be softer in our end-of-year looks, we opt for its ivory cable-knit sweater, its red cashmere scarf, its mittens and its jacquard socks. Associated with any part, these are essentials to get as quickly as possible.
