PISA

inaugurated the 10th edition of ‘Banchi di gusto’

Sugar Mizzy November 13, 2021

Eco-sustainability and the fight against food waste but also enhancement of the food and wine excellences of the territory, solidarity, direct sales, artistic-craftsmanship and first-class show-cooking made in synergy by chefs, schools and local producers. Cutting of the ribbon this morning, Saturday 13 November, in the presence of the territorial president of CNA Pisa Francesco Oppedisano and the councilor for productive activities Paolo Pesciatini, for ‘Benches of taste‘, the two days curated by CNA Pisa and Toscana Sapori that for his tenth edition makes an appointment today and tomorrow at Logge di Banchi.

Also present at the cutting of the ribbon were the president of Toscana Sapori Valentina Giambastiani and the Pisan cooks association. A fixed appointment on the well-established taste market which, thanks to the synergy and contribution of the Municipality of Pisa, the Pisa Chamber of Commerce, Terre di Pisa, the Pisani Cooks Association, IPsar G. Matteotti and Banca di Lajatico offers a showcase and a lounge open and interactive to all those who wish to know the principles of nutrition and gastronomy with the related historical, environmental and health aspects. Arrived from all over the province of Pisa, but also from the whole of Tuscany, i producers which, together with the Pisan Cooks Association and the students of IPSAR Matteotti, will offer the city but also visitors and tourists a two experiential days all to be experienced and tasted.

Benches of tastings, direct sales of products, dishes of the local tradition using raw materials offered by producers but also tastings obtained, given the theme linked to food waste, reusing food waste will be the added value of the event which, for this edition, will also host CNA’s artistic crafts, offering the city an all-round experiential opportunity where food, art and craftsmanship they will network with inclusive paths preferred by master craftsmen in the fields of ceramics, weaving and paintings on canvas.

Finally, certainly not in order of importance, this edition will also open its arms to solidarity: in fact, there will be a stand organized by the association ‘Andrea’s smile‘(http://www.ilsorrisodiandrea.org/), the charity created to remember Andrea Baldini, the boy who died prematurely in March 2020 following an exhausting fight against a rare tumor. During the event it will be possible to buy artisan panettone made by the Fratelli Sbrana pastry shop in San Giuliano Terme and the proceeds from the sales will be entirely dedicated to the purchase of Christmas gifts for the little patients of the AOUP Pediatric Oncology Department where Andrea also fought his battle.

“An opportunity to restart. We talk about taste understood in all its nuances – intervenes the president of CNA PISA Francesco Oppedisano – taste for the enhancement of the territory, of excellence, of local producers and artisans and, last but not least, of solidarity. Thanks to this opportunity we discover, even more strongly, the relationship between the city and the local companies, a relationship to be cared for and cultivated frequently. And this is precisely one of CNA’s mission: to create experiential tourism, not only food but also artistic craftsmanship. Pisa and Tuscany are not only monuments but also all-round excellences. we have to avoid a hit and run tourism and create virtuous and long-lasting ties that bring affluence and value to our territory “.
