Ideas for outings for this weekend in Toulouse
Circus, theater, literary encounters and puzzle games… So many ideas for outings and activities, selected by the Journal Toulousain, to do in Toulouse during the weekend.
The Night of the Circus
For its third edition, La Nuit du cirque, an event organized in 13 different countries, from November 11 to 14, lasts 72 hours. This year, ten events are given to spectators in the Toulouse metropolis. La Grainerie and l’Esacto’Lido, which coordinate the festival in the Pink City and its surroundings, invite you under the big top, but you will have to choose between several performances, in several different places.
On Saturday, November 13, those over 8 (6 to 12 euros) can go, at 6.30 p.m., to the Jules-Julien Theater to attend the performance of the Compagnie Embrouillamini, halfway between dance and theater, between hip-hop and circus, called “Du simple au double”. At the same time, the Compagnie Carbone Invisible will offer, at Le Bijou, “La Caravelle et l’oiseau blanc” (free by reservation). It is a surprising theatrical narrative, using the techniques of magic, illusionism and mentalism. Then, at 8:30 pm, at La Grainerie, the Toulouse-based company Lapsus welcomes those over 9 to present their latest creation: ”Le chant du vertige”. Between circus, theater and poetry, via systema (Russian martial art that takes body and mind into areas of extreme tension), the artists join forces with the writer Pierre Decrozet to question a new relationship with the living .
On Sunday November 14, the Par Haz’art association invites young and old to introductory workshops at 2 p.m., then at 4 p.m., at the Grainerie (3 to 5 euros). The opportunity to discover the circus in all its forms. Balance on objects, trapeze, acrobatics, juggling… everyone can try their hand at various circus specialties.
Practical information: From November 11 to 14. All the program on the site of The Night of the Circus.
IvanOff at the Théâtre de la Cité
Inspired by the famous play “Ivanof” by Chekhov, the very modern adaptation of Galin Stoev, director and director of the Théâtre de la Cité, is entitled “IvanOff”. On the stage, actors of course, but also their avatars and videos. With this new creation, Ivanov is plunged into a future where we could quickly switch. A virus is circulating around the world. People try to protect themselves from it, except Ivanov. Not out of courage or disinterest, but because he is in despair where we came from. He is in a rather comical state of distress and lucidity, he is so radical. He stands between a past that can no longer give meaning to the present and a future that is impossible to imagine. An improbable mix between Chekhov, David Lynch and Lewis Caroll.
Practical information: “IvanOff”. Saturday, November 13, at 6.30 p.m., at the Théâtre de la Cité. From 12 to 20 euros. Online reservation possible.
Encounters between paper and book

Authors, booksellers and independent publishers offer lectures, performances and activities related to paper and books. And, in this anniversary year of the Collective, the organizers have chosen “Stories for civic engagement” as their theme. An event in which is found the previous paper activity of the building, but also the desire to support reading and publishing, to understand the evolutions and revolutions between paper and digital.
Several events are on the program for this literary weekend. A literary snack accessible to over 5s on Saturday, November 13 at 4 pm, in the presence of the author of the children’s book “THE True Story of Joan who Demonstrates for Women’s Rights”, Sophie Lamoureux.
