A 60-year-old racing cyclist collided with a deer on a descent from Gaisberg on Friday evening. He was injured in the accident and an alcohol test was positive, the police reported on Saturday.
Despite an immediate emergency stop, the racing cyclist collided with a deer, which, according to his own statements, suddenly stood on the road. The Flachgauer fell and suffered abrasions on his left hand, his right upper body and a bump on his head, the police said.

However, the 60-year-old stated that he did not need an ambulance, he would seek treatment independently if necessary. The deer died at the scene of the accident and was taken away by the responsible hunter.
Cyclists had an alcohol level of 0.66
An alcohol test carried out gave a value of 0.66 per mille. At the time of the accident, the racing cyclist was wearing a bicycle helmet.
