des cosmétiques à base de CBD sans chanvre
Bordeaux-based Arnaud Distinguin, 34, has just launched his hemp-free CBD cosmetics brand, made from tree bark lichen and citrus fruits
In Bordeaux and elsewhere, hemp-based products are on the rise. And in the cosmetics industry, it is even one of the most popular products in terms of research, like hyaluronic acid, a few years ago.
At 34, a Bordeaux resident, Arnaud Distinguin, has just launched on the market with his Belle Avenue brand, a range of beauty products based on CBD (cannabidiol), which he sells on his online site. “I am also trying to develop the brand in pharmacies or large retail chains. My products are not 100% made in France because they are assembled in Holland in a laboratory, ”he explains. But he doesn’t want to say more about the manufacturing process. If he nevertheless considers that the market “is not regulated in the sector”, he defends his product which he considers “unique” and “innovative”. “Our CBD molecule does not come from hemp but is extracted naturally from tree bark and citrus lichen,” he continues.
The young entrepreneur defends his invention, not tested on (1), which has the advantage of not containing molecules present in hemp, such as THC or even pesticide or solvent residues. And he hopes to go far in his adventure. “It is a promising market, but which is still in its infancy, which amounts to several billion euros in Europe. You just have to remove the negative image of cannabis, hemp and the stoner smoker side. This is what we are trying to do because there are a lot of players in the field. But everyone is working on their own and that’s a shame. We are trying to create synergy, in particular with other players working in this field. Arnaud Distinguin recalls the benefits of CBD in relieving symptoms of neuropathic diseases such as multiple sclerosis.
(1) The beauty products, sold at around 49 euros, were tested for two months on around thirty people before they were put on the market.
