A draw was played in Debrecen in the women’s handball Europa League
Debrecen hosted a 22-22 draw with Romanian Magura Cisnadie in the second round of the women’s handball Europa League qualifiers on Saturday, for the first time.
The Russian goalkeeper Kira Truszova, who arrived with only 11 field players, started with brave defenses, and since in addition to DVSC’s offensive play, the defense stalled, Zoltán Szilágyi asked for a quarter of the match and then tried substitutions. After setting Planet Simonetta, there was a two-goal difference between the team for the first time in the 24th minute. Debrecen, who was defending harder and harder, led to 10-8, but due to the inaccuracies in the attack, his advantage was again only one hit during the break.
In the first five minutes of the second half, Magura produced a 3-0 series, so Zoltán Szilágyi asked again. His team had to fight for the equalizer, which succeeded in the 44th minute, but the Hajdúság players didn’t get a boost either. The previous great pace fell back, there were many interruptions, and ten minutes before the end, the Romanians led by two (17-19). In her hair, Belarusian Karina Yezhikava broke out of the DVSC due to a bleeding head injury. His team turned from a three-goal disadvantage, but the last goal was scored by Magura, so the final result was a draw.
In the case of Hajdúság, Planéta closed with six goals, on the other side Valentina Blazevic and Maria Bardac also hit six times. The best in the field was Kira Truszova, who showed 18 defenses with 45 percent efficiency.
The rematch will be held next Sunday, the winner of the battle will be placed in the group stage.
