With numbers growing in Portugal, the minister says that ″ all scenarios are open ″
The Health Minister says that “all scenarios” are open at a time when the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention considers the pandemic situation in Portugal “under control”.
Speaking to journalists, as part of a visit to the Padre Américo Hospital, in Penafiel, Marta feared the historical fact that the Portuguese must keep to the rules, calling for both flu vaccination and the booster dose against Covid-19.
“In the Portuguese context, what is really on the table is looking at our non-pharmacological measures and calling for compliance. And calling for the vaccination of the eligible population now. It is evident that, since the beginning of the pandemic, we have realized that scenarios have to to be all open. We do not want this, but I remember that at the last meeting of Infarmed experts, it was no longer mentioned that November, December were the months when things would start to get more complete,” said the minister.
Asked about the profile of current victims of the virus, Marta Temido clarifies that it takes time to get answers. “There is a lot of information after real time, because it takes time to be treated. This is the great challenge of our pandemic. It is that we are in need of answers that data often cannot give us”, he stressed.
