VENICE | TAV, SUMMIT WITH THE VICENTINI MAYORS: “THE SALTO DEL MONTONE MOVED” – RETE VENETA
12/11/2021 VENICE – Tav, the future passes through today’s meeting in Venice, which was attended by the mayors of the Vicenza area interested in the High Speed section. || High Speed, no mistakes. An investment in the future, a bet for companies, ready to choose rail transport for costs, lower prices, become more competitive by reducing the environmental impact. It is not a little, indeed, it is everything. The future is at stake: for this reason, today in Venice at the Veneto Strade headquarters, the Region wanted to put Rfi, ItalFerr and all the mayors of the Vicenza area interested in the route, from Montebello to Grisignano, around the same table: The western section of the Tav has already been contracted out, start expropriations: here the impact of construction sites on the road network must be assessed in order to limit the inconvenience to traffic. On the other hand, the crossing of Vicenza is one of the most delicate aspects: the final project will be filed by the end of December, and from January 2022 the planning of the east exit towards Padua will begin. And it is precisely the towards Padua, currently being drawn up, which reserves the greatest unknowns. Starting with the famous “ram’s jump”, where the tracks will cross over those of the historical line. What is certain is that the Tav today is a great opportunity, but to be built it will take years. The crossing of Vicenza will involve works and construction sites that will transform the city and take it into the future. – Interviewees STEFANO LAIN (Mayor of Grisignano di Zocco), FRANCESCO RUCCO (President of the Province of Vicenza) (Report by Carlo Alberto Inghilleri)
