Toulouse: the driver takes all the risks but ends up in police custody
The police had to mobilize several patrols to manage to stop a driver in the night from Thursday to Friday, in Toulouse
A driver transformed the center of Toulouse into a racing circuit overnight from Thursday to Friday, taking all the risks before being blocked by several police vehicles a few hundred meters from the Place du Capitole.
It all started around 2 a.m. when the police officers, in the position of surveillance on the Place Saint-Pierre, saw one arriving which was traveling too fast, in particular because of the people who are still in this high place of student celebrations. Several revelers also had to quickly get on the sidewalk to avoid being hit. The police then ordered the driver to stop but the driver continued on his way, still driving just as quickly this time in the direction, in particular rue Pargaminières.
In about ten minutes, and while several national police and municipal police patrols were heading towards the city center to try to block this driver, the individual at the wheel increased the number of traffic violations: prohibited direction, forgotten red light, priorities not respected such as speed limits.
Finally blocked by a police car, the driver tried to pass on a sidewalk not wide enough for his vehicle. His flight stopped there.
Controlled, handcuffed, this 25-year-old boy who had never encountered any problems with the law was taken into police custody. His behavior remains a mystery since he does indeed hold a driver’s license. He was still tested positively for alcohol but at a rate that would deserve, without the other traffic offenses accumulated, a simple fine.
