Lions Club Innsbruck Goldenes Dachl with Marcel Hubeli and Johanna Penz present donation
Innsbruck (pts012 / 12.11.2021 / 09:15) – If an event is organized and set up by a female director and a team of committed women, then it is inevitable that there is also a charity campaign dedicated to women power. 100 percent of the proceeds from a tombola that was held at this year’s ART Innsbruck and was run by trade fair director Johanna Penz went to the Tyrolean women’s refuge. This is supposed to be a new house.
“In the Tyrolean Oberland there has not yet been a protective facility for women and children affected by violence. That is our new, big goal: the opening of another women’s shelter in the Tyrolean Oberland. We are therefore very happy about the donation from the Lions Club Innsbruck Goldenes Dachl,” said Mag. Gabi Plattner, managing director of the Frauenhaus Tirol. “We are delighted to be able to present the check to the women’s refuge,” said Marcel Hubeli, Past President of the LC Goldenes Dachl Innsbruck.

Help and protection for women in Tyrol
The Tyrolean women’s refuge has been offering protection, accommodation, advice and support for women and children who are at risk of domestic violence for 40 years. In addition, women are also offered assisted living in seven transitional apartments, as well as follow-up care and advice for women and children. Donations are used to cover the running costs, but also new protective facilities are built to create a place of safety and to strengthen the self-worth of the women concerned in order to curb the dynamic of violence in the long term.
