San Marino, Pedini Amati meets Minister Reem Al Hashimy in Dubai
SAN MARINO (ITALPRESS) – The Secretary of State for Tourism, Post, Cooperation and Expo Federico Pedini Amati is in Dubai for his second visit to the Expo since the opening last October 1st, the first after the disappearance of the Commissioner General Mauro Maiani.
Precisely for an ideal collective embrace in memory of the Commissioner General, the Secretary of State met, on arrival, on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, the entire staff of the San Marino Pavilion and all the volunteers.
Accompanying the Secretary of State the new Commissioner General Filippo Francini who thus enters the full capacity of his duties and who will immediately be at work for the supervision and coordination of activities for the national day on 10 December.
Today morning the high moment of meeting with HE Reem Al Hashimy, Minister for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020, who offered the Secretary of State his deepest condolences for the loss of Commissioner General Maiani and offered and guaranteed absolute support to the Republic of San Marino for the continuation of participation in Expo 2020. It was a particularly heartfelt moment in which the memory of the General Commissioner and Ambassador of San Marino in the United Arab Emirates Mauro Maiani involved the Emirati, San Marino and all present. For the Secretary of State Federico Pedini Amati, today was an opportunity to reiterate the feelings of gratitude towards the government of the United Arab Emirates and the extremely active and collaborative organization of Expo 2020 in the days of the tragedy that struck San Marino and in the subsequent ones when the primary objective was that of a rapid repatriation of the body. During the meeting, the new Commissioner General Filippo Francini was presented to HE Reem Al Hashimy and the imminent presentation of Elisabetta Bucci’s robes for the role of Ambassador of San Marino in the United Arab Emirates was announced. The working day continued with the meeting at the Italian Pavilion with the General Commissioner Paolo Glisenti with whom Mauro Maiani had signed a collaboration protocol and to whom he was linked by feelings of friendship. The collaboration with Italy will continue and further initiatives will soon be activated.
This afternoon a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism was signed in the Brazilian Pavilion between the Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati and the Brazilian Minister of Tourism Gilson Machado Neto. The agreement provides for initiatives in the field of tourism promotion and aims to strengthen the image of the countries.
At the end of the signing, the Brazilian Minister of Tourism visited the San Marino Pavilion accompanied by the Secretary of State himself and by the Commissioner General Filippo Francini who also holds the role of Ambassador of San Marino in Brazil.
