Salzburg: Over 37,000 people have had their vaccinations refreshed
There are currently 190 Covid-19 patients in the hospital, 24 (seven fully immunized) in the intensive care unit and 166 (85 fully immunized) in the normal ward, the State of Salzburg announced in a broadcast today. For a few weeks now, anyone over the age of 18 who was fully immunized six months ago has been able to pick up the third dose.
Willingness to vaccinate in Salzburg is increasing
In the last seven days, the willingness to have a primary vaccination has increased, a total of 6,998 Salzburg residents received a first dose during this period. Compared to the same period before, 3,264 more are, a significant increase. Tuesday, November 9, saw the highest number of first-dose vaccinations (1,771) since July 1. (As of today, 8.30 a.m.).
Incidence confirms vaccination effect
Doctors and statisticians agree: The corona vaccination works. The head of the state statistics, Gernot Filipp, sums it up: “The higher the vaccination rate of an age group, the lower the incidence, that becomes more and more clear.” Specifically, this currently means for Salzburg: The 15- to 19-year-olds currently have one 7-day incidence of 2,094, 10 to 14 year olds 1,943, 20 to 24 year olds 1,692. “We have a value of 550 among the over 60-year-olds. That is not even half as high as the national average of 1,154.6”, says Filipp.
Served with the highest vaccination rate
The vaccination coverage differs greatly among Salzburg’s municipalities. Dienten has the best value in the general population with 77.7 percent fully immunized, included by Rauris (72.4) and Lend (72.1). The community of St. Koloman has the lowest vaccination coverage with 44.4 percent, filled by Krispl (44.9) and Scheffau (48.3). In the entire state, the vaccination rate is 61.3 percent, the goal would be 80 percent. (As of today, 8.30 a.m.)
