Prague is the fifth best city in the world for working from home
Prague received points for the availability of rentals, quality transport, the quality of public education or gender equality. On the contrary between worse rated category in Prague belongs legal requirements for the necessary residence, but also the level of taxation.
“The pandemic has accelerated the trend of teleworking much more than we expected. Of course, the technologies for the necessary remote work were already there before the pandemic. What has changed, however, is the attitude of companies to work from home (…), accepting the possibility of that the best candidate for a given position can live in another country, “WorkMotion co-founder and CEO Carsten Lebtig told La Libre.
The big European metropolises did not turn out very flatteringly. Brussels is 52nd, mainly due to high tax rates. For the same reason, along with housing prices, Paris is 62. Berlin is eleventh. London ranked 36th, mainly due to prices and housing affordability.
People have different priorities when choosing a place to live, and therefore also to work from home, and according to them, they can also choose destinations, states La Libre. The most advantageous taxes are according to the rankings in Istanbul, in second place is Lisbon. Lowest cost of living find digital nomads in Bangalore or Bali. Danish metropolis Copenhagen, on the other hand, may have the happiest people.
The ranking took into account a total of 17 categories, in each of which it was possible to obtain up to 100 points. The data for each category drew on existing and available data, including data from the World Bank, the European Commission (EC) or the World Health Organization (WHO). WorkMotion rated a total of 80 cities.
