Intertrust big winner on Amsterdam stock exchange after takeover bid

AMSTERDAM (ANP) – The AEX index of the stock exchange in Amsterdam closed with a profit on Friday. Stock markets elders in Europe see a mixed picture. Financier Intertrust was a boost on the Damrak. Investors are projecting on the news that investment firm CVC Capital Partners has made an offer for the trust office.
The AEX index on Beursplein 5 with a plus of 0.5 percent at 820.30 points. The MidKap climbed 0.7 percent to 1089.92 points. Frankfurt and Paris won up to 0.5 percent. London 0.5 percent.
Intertrust jumped almost 38 percent in the MidKap to 17.30 euros. Intertrust in talks with CVC about an offer of EUR 18 per share. The offer is more than 40 percent above Thursday’s closing price. The trust sector has been under fire from regulators for some time for money laundering and tax avoidance. Several stocks have also criticized Intertrust’s underperformance.
ArcelorMittal
ArcelorMittal (minus 3.1 percent) was the largest decliner in the AEX. Thursday was still the big profit figures of the company. In the MidKap, stainless steel maker Aperam (minus 5.8 percent) faced disappointing results. Investors were also not pleased with the figures of the German steel producer Salzgitter and sent the share more than 4 percent lower in Frankfurt. Industry partner Thyssenkrupp yielded 2.6 percent in the German stock market.
Boskalis fell 4.1 percent at the financial funds in Amsterdam. The dredger and maritime sector continue to struggle with the corona measures. Mainly due to the travel restrictions, it is designed to hold projects. Vopak won 2.7 percent. The gas station managed to improve results last quarter.
AstraZeneca
In London EenstraZeneca almost 7 percent after failed farm results. Deutsche Telekom Klom 2 percent in Frankfurt thanks to strong figures from the telecom group. Richemont rose 10 percent in Zurich. The Swiss owner of luxury brand Cartier has seen profits rise in the past six months.
The euro was worth $1.1446, against $1.1468 a day earlier. A VAT US oil, 0.6 percent less at $ 8113. Brent oil became 0.6 percent cheaper at $82.40 per VAT.
