Are you saving him? Albert of Monaco took possession of the sublime office of his mother, Grace Kelly
Every November 12 is synonymous with nostalgia for Grace Kelly’s children. The birthday of the actress who died almost 40 years ago brings a wind of melancholy on the Rock. As a tribute, Prince Albert took possession of his mother’s sublime office from the moment he took over from his father.
Almost 40 years after her death, Grace Kelly’s memory remains intact. The tragic disappearance of Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite actress sealed his legend and his children, Albert, Caroline and Stéphanie have since worked to perpetuate his memory. If after the death of Rainier III in 2005, the eldest of the siblings to take up the torch, he chose to take up residence in his mother’s office who offers a splendid view of the port, and not in that of the former sovereign.
In 2020, during the filming of the documentary Inside Monaco: Playground for the rich, the Palace to open the doors of Albert II’s office to BBC cameras. In the image, viewers have discovered a splendid place, where paperwork, files, books and personal photos mingle. Deco side, the tones are neutral. The office is soberly decorated with a mustard-colored wall and matching curtains. In one corner stands a living room with a brown sofa, matching armchairs and colorful cushions. An arrangement imagined by Grace Kelly. “Prince Albert’s office also includes a plethora of daring works of art, while the large windows offer a breathtaking view of the port of Fontvielle at Monaco”, describes the magazine Hello.
What about the prince’s office Rainier III?
From 1949 to his death in 2005, the one then nicknamed the “prince builder” ruled Monaco before his son succeeded him. And if Prince Albert has a preference for her mother’s office, that of Prince Rainier III is not neglected however. The Monegasque sovereign the feat during meetings with his cabinet.
