Sweden removes entry ban for vaccinated travelers from Armenia
Fully vaccinated Armenians will soon be able to travel to Sweden without being covered by the entry ban or additional travel rules as test requirements, the Swedish authorities have announced.
“The government today adopted changes to the temporary travel ban to Sweden. The amendments primarily mean that additional persons who can present a vaccine certificate issued in Armenia are exempt from the entry ban and the test requirement. “ the Swedish Ministry of Justice’s statement reads.
The decision to remove the entry ban and the test requirement for fully vaccinated Armenians was announced today, November 11, and will take effect on Monday, November 15, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
In line with the recently updated list of countries that are exempt from the entry ban, travelers from Armenia will be able to skip the test requirement when they reach Sweden. Nevertheless, they must provide valid proof of vaccination in order to do so.
Armenia has recently joined the EU’s digital COVID-19 certification system, which means that vaccination certificates issued in the country are recognized under the same conditions as those issued by the Member States. Nevertheless, travelers from Armenia need to prove that they have been vaccinated against the virus with one of the vaccines that Sweden recognizes for travel.
