SIENA. “The Terre di Siena have all the characteristics to be defined as a Global Wellness destination”. This is one of the conclusions of the study, carried out by the Side Note consulting company, preparatory for the establishment of a network of companies for the enhancement of active tourism within the Strade di Siena project. The network was presented this morning at a press conference in the Sala dei Conti at Palazzo Ottieri della Ciaia.

The process for the establishment of the network of businesses on active tourism therefore starts, as resolved by the municipal council of Siena on the proposal of the councilor Alberto Tirelli. In particular, the business network will bring together operators in the cycling and active tourism sector, to generate the appropriate synergies with the effort put in place by public administrations, in the context of the associated management Terre di Siena Slow, Aggregation Francigena Sud and Via Lauretana Tuscany, for which the Municipality of Siena carries out the functions of the Leading Body. The further steps will be the presentation to the actors, the signing of the network contract and the start of the activities, accompanied by those who have structured the project.

“It is – declares the councilor for tourism of the Municipality of Siena Alberto Tirelli – an absolute innovation for our territory: the municipal administration starts the process for the establishment of a network of companies starting from the Strade di Siena project for active tourism and the development of cycle tourism. A project of participation and sharing on the territory of the strategies for the sustainable development of the Terre di Siena, which can involve operators, exhibitors, organizations and individuals, along strategic lines of active tourism. With this first step, the establishment of the network, a fundamental and essential tool for the near future “.
