Crimea, spy scandal. Ukraine did not come out, Russia did not really enter
While the progressive liberal and pro-Kremlin communities are fighting over the next step of Lukashenka with the refugees, today I have another Jam Day, which I really do not like. Over the years, you become more cynical, more harmful, in some ways smarter, and so there is only one year left until the half-century anniversary. Time flies, the picture outside the window does not change and we can say – Here it is, stability! But I still want to enjoy life, see how Russia is changing and do a lot myself.
It so happened that I now live in Crimea, and it was the right decision that I made a little more than 7 years ago, 8 years ago (in October 2013) I started writing my posts on Echo, and they were first about the Maidan, which changed a lot in the world, in Russia, including my life. Being a Russian by birth, a native Muscovite, I moved to Crimea for permanent residence and now I am writing his chronicle from the first days of our Russian Crimea. There will be many themes in this chronicle, and one of them is the theme of the Crimean re-colored shape-shifters in power.
Yesterday in many media there was news about the arrest of FSB officers Yuri Lomenko, who was at one time the head of Simeiz, and until recently a deputy of the Yalta city council from the United Russia party. Suddenly, a few days ago, he resigned his parliamentary powers, and on the day of his arrest he was expelled from the United Russia.
The FSB reported that the arrest was related to the fact of high treason, namely for espionage in favor of Ukraine in 2017-2018. According to available information, the friend had an updated Ukrainian passport.
You can discuss his motives for a long time, but according to information that appears in social networks from people who knew Lomenko personally.
What is special about this news and why has caused such a resonance. What, our special services and the Kremlin do not know what is actually happening in Crimea? What, they don’t know that quite a few Crimeans have renewed their Ukrainian passports. Everyone knew it very well / knows that many Crimean officials, deputies have updated Ukrainian passports and secretly travel to Ukraine. Some were caught by the Ukrainian side.
I regularly write that there are serious systemic problems in Crimea, including with the second Ukrainian citizenship. Local elites at one time pushed through this decision, and it is quite understandable why. Many have assets and selfish interests in Ukraine. Moreover, these same comrades settled in the offices of the Crimean Council of Ministers and in municipalities. They may not be transmitting classified information anywhere, but the damage they inflict on Russia and the Crimea is simply colossal. Moreover, Crimea is in first place in Russia in terms of landings of officials. They are planted in batches – from deputy prime ministers and ministers to heads of municipalities and heads of departments. They are caught on banal bribes and total corruption. Just a week ago, the mayor of Belogorsk was arrested on a large bribe, similar problems in Kerch and Yevpatoria, the mayors of Sudak and Feodosia were kicked out. Crimea is on the verge of administrative chaos.
All 7 years of Crimea in Russia, the Kremlin gives up to the tampering of information, internal and personnel policy to local shape-shifters, they are sad about Ukraine and the corruption liberty that was there. I see the result every day, when the Sovminovskie shape-shifters and other dyed-in-the-box slips will hurricane here in full. They hang around with portraits of Putin, symbols of “United Russia”, angrily denounce us, pro-Russian bloggers and social activists, but what is the result? The result is very simple, as the people said 7 years ago – “Ukraine didn’t come out, Russia really didn’t come in”, so everything remained. Alas, Ukraine is still firmly in the minds of Crimean officials, and I have no confidence in them.
The Kremlin made a strategic mistake, leaning on shape-shifters that did not really change their colors. At a minimum, the financial, personnel, informational and internal policy block should be given to people from the mainland. And in the end, these shape-shifting clowns teach me how to love my Motherland, and they even persecute me.
Maybe we are fraternal peoples with Ukrainians, but now, in fact, there is a hybrid war between our countries, Zelensky is spreading out, and we are waiting for new provocations from there.
I would like to believe that the arrest of this inverted deputy is the beginning of the active work of our special services in this direction. I am sure that new arrests await us and I strongly recommend that the Kremlin take the issues of personnel and information policy in Crimea under strict control. Enough time has passed for the rotation of local elites, sending them to the mainland to gain experience and love for Russia.
So it’s fun here with us. Usually at the end of the post I ask a question, but today, on the occasion of my Day of Jam, I’ll just ask – help those who save homeless animals. This topic worries me very personally, and I devote quite a lot of time to it. Read more and email me Here!
