Brussels Motor Show 2022 continues
The Brussels Motor Show will resume ‘normal’ in 2022. Last year the Brussels Motor Show was canceled due to the Corona pandemic. Upcoming edition of Het Autosalon (as the Belgians call the show) will be the 99th edition. So we have to wait an extra year for the big party. Yet there are already several reasons to pay a visit to our southern neighbors.
Nice and close
Unlike the last IAA in Munich, the Brussels Motorshow is easy to reach for many Dutch people. Despite our not too modest transport in the form of the Lexus LS 500H, the journey to the IAA took a good 7 hours. While the Utrecht-Brussels travel time takes just under two hours. In addition, Brussels is easily accessible by public transport.
New, New, New
Director of the Brussels Motor Show, Pierre Lmand, indicates that the developments since the last edition of 2020 have gone very fast. Visitors can take advantage of many new models, new technologies, but many new players have also entered the market, especially from the Chinese corner. New at Het Salon are, for example, Baic and Aiways. Both brands market electric cars.
Lots of offer
With more than 50 brands that focus on passenger cars and light transport, the 2022 edition of the Brussels Motor Show will have the largest offer ever. During the previous edition, there were ‘only’ 39 different brands present.
However, the Brussels Motor Show will have to do without D’Ieteren in 2022. Due to the absence of the Belgian ‘counterpart’ of PON, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen will not be present. This also applies to theMotorcycle Salon‘. A few days ago, the organizer announced that motorcycles will be missing from Het Salon this edition.
However, there is also good news! Dacia is coming. As well as Stellantis. The latter was still the big absentee during the IAA, but will therefore come to the Brussels Motor Show.
The tentative list of 2022:
Abarth, Aiways, Alfa Romeo, Alpina, Alpine, Aston Martin, BAIC, Bentley, BESTUNE, BMW, Cadillac
Citroen, Corvette, Cupra, Dacia, DFSK, DS, FAW, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Iveco, Jeep, Kia,
Lamborghini, LEVC, Lexus, Lotus, Maserati, Maxus, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, MG, MINI, Nissan,
Opel, Peugeot, Polestar, Renault, Rolls-Royce, SERES, Shelby, SsangYong, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota,
tropos.
This is still possible, because registration is not yet closed.
