The protagonist is a death in human clothes, complete with a worn cardigan, who, undressing the role of ruthless reaper, encounters various difficulties in carrying out his task. In the reach of his own nature, he ends up losing his only frightening and almost comes to arouse sympathy and understanding. A little indolent, she waits sitting under a lamppost, with a greasy plant to keep her company: essential elements that immediately refer to the suspended atmosphere of limbo. In this place of passage he waits for the souls to furnish themselves and without ever forcing his hand he accompanies them across the threshold. Different figures alternate that well represent the human variety and as many faces of death itself, including a recidivist suicide, a young victim of a car accident, two elderly spouses, a prostitute in disarray, a soldier, a woman who risks losing her child. .
On the stage the actors in an unconventional way contemporary masks, created by Ilaria Ariemme, giving life to an original fabric, a surreal, poetic and meaningful atmosphere. A theater without words capable of turning back the space that separates the here and now, the moment in which life and death mix before returning or heading towards the inevitable.
The Teatro dei Gordi is placed on the middle line and, in a free zone of freshness and originality, makes you smile sweetly and laugh out loud in the succession of sequences capable of defusing without falling into ridicule or excess, giving even more collected and moving moments. .
The show unanimously won the Scintille award in 2015. It then “collected” numerous awards from professionals.
