Abuse of a minor, the Court of Siena sentences a man to 5 years 6 months
The Court of Siena sentenced to 5 years and 6 months a man accused of abusing a boy at the time of the juvenile facts, through sexual violence by induction. The sentence was handed down in the afternoon by judge Simone Spina, after a few hours in council chamber with his college.
The prosecutor Daniele Rosa had asked for 6 years, with the sentence being slightly lower, which also includes some accessory penalties. A delicate and painful story in the province of Siena, born out of friendship relationships within the family, and which sees at the center some episodes of violence dating back to 2013-2014 but which emerged only between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 . When the boy’s parents – who was 14-15 at the time, while the accused was around 30 – reported them to the Prosecutor’s Office and afterwards the report was also made by the young man at the Police Headquarters. From there the investigation began and the man was sent to trial in 2019, followed by a long trial during which various testimonies were heard about the disputed conduct.
Today, the discussion of the parties was held, first the prosecutor made his requests, then the defender of the boy who became a civil party spoke and finally the defendant’s lawyer, who rejected the accusations made. The reasons will arrive within 90 days, the defense of the condemned, certain of his innocence, has already made it known that he is ready to appeal.
