There railway company for which the driver works is there JR West, which apparently makes it a boast of punctuality. The poor machinist has seen him cut him very well 43 cents for spotting having started a train with a minute late.
The “indicted” fact dates back to June 2020, the driver who was to steer a train bound for the Okayama station, located in the south of the country, has come to the wrong track. For the record, the train at that juncture was traveling “empty”. The diligent and unfortunate driver, as soon as he realized the error, tried to remedy it by rushing to the correct one, but unfortunately causing a delay of one minute to the train departure.
The man defended himself by saying that with his mistake, however, he did not cause problems or the timetable, let alone the passengers, thanks to the fact that the train was empty. But the company he has not heard reasons and he has sanctioned by reducing it from the beginning, 43 cents. The driver anyway did not accept the fine and decided to bring the affair in court, the district one of Okayama. In turn asking for compensation of 2.2 million yen (almost 17 thousand euros), for Moral damages.
This time it is the company that defends itself, claiming to have applied the “principle no work, no pay”, as it would for the late arrival or absence of an employee.
