VfB Stuttgart | Test match VfB Stuttgart
While seven VfB professionals are out and about with their national teams, VfB tested on Wednesday afternoon at home against FC Zurich, runner-up in the Swiss Super League. Florian Müller is back in the VfB box for the first time after his corona infection, Alexis Tibidi from VfB U19 is making his starting eleven debut with the professionals.
VfB lets the ball run smoothly through the rows from the start. Except for a header from Hiroki Ito after a corner in the eighth minute, there were no compelling chances to score. Both teams have nothing to give each other and are accordingly present in duels. Shortly before the break, Philipp Klement puts his free kick from around 20 meters just over the bar.
The VfB comes out of the cabin well and can hold on to his possession. In the 60th minute, VfB head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo made a triple change and brought In Atakan Karazor, Lukas Laupheimer and Alou Kuol for Orel Mangala, Mateo Klimowicz and Alexis Tibidi. In the 70th minute, Philipp Förster refueled well and staged Alou Kuol. However, the 20-year-old fails at the Zurich goalkeeper. For the final quarter of an hour, Luca Bazzoli and Matej Maglica come for Philipp Förster and Hiroki Ito. In the final minute, it is Alou Kuol from the U21s who scores the 1-0 winner for VfB.
