Toulouse: mobilization against the health pass in libraries
About sixty people mobilized, Wednesday, November 10, against the health pass in the libraries of Toulouse. The rally took place at the José Cabanis media library, at the call of the South union.
A day of strike, at the call of the Sud Collectivités Territoriales and Sud Culture Solidaires union, was organized on November 10 in libraries all over France to protest against the obligation to present the health pass. About sixty people rallied in front of the José Cabanis media library in Toulouse. Since summer 2021, the health pass is compulsory in all libraries, except those for professional or research use. The unions denounce the “aberration” of such an obligation, “in such essential places”. They oppose ” any sanction or threat of sanction against personnel and users, so that our missions are refocused on our real profession: the documentary offer, information, cultural action, welcoming everyone in the best conditions and without discrimination ”, indicates South. The union also denounces the “self-exclusion” that they impose on certain users, which leads to “the drastic drop in attendance” of libraries. “The extension of the health pass to children, since September 30, was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” for the union.
